Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)[edit]

Hello Sherlock808, and thanks for your proposal for this series of edit-a-thons related to climate change. I have a few questions regarding the proposal:

  • What is the purpose of the tarpaulins listed in the budget, and why are they grouped together with brochures? These seem like different costs.
  • What expenses are the Communications Expenses covering for these events?
  • Does the Documentation Expenses (Rent of equipment) cover the mentioned computer units and display mentioned in the proposal, or does this refer to something else?

When you're able, please reply back here to clarify these questions. With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 23:29, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Answers for the comments[edit]

Hello I JethroBT (WMF) , Here are my answers:

1. What is the purpose of the tarpaulins listed in the budget, and why are they grouped together with brochures? These seem like different costs.

Tarpaulins are for promotional purposes. It will also be used as backdrop during the event so it could be identify as edit-a-thon event on the documentation. It was grouped together with the brochures since this will be printed on a same printing shop.

2. What expenses are the Communications Expenses covering for these events?

Communication expenses covers the prepaid load to be used for text messaging and phone calls of the organizer and the participants to do follow ups and invitations before and after the events. This is to consider those who does not have social media accounts or not so active on social media. The excess load however can be used for data connection while they are editing outside of the scheduled event, such as assignments for editing translated articles.

3. Does the Documentation Expenses (Rent of equipment) cover the mentioned computer units and display mentioned in the proposal, or does this refer to something else?

Documentation expense refers to camera rental for taking pictures or video recording which can be used to provide photos for reporting. Photos taken can be also be used for Wikimedia Commons contributions. But if you have other suggestions, I am willing to reevaluate this on your considerations.

Thank you.
