Hello fjmustak thank you for your grant request and for your patience. I am approving your grant request for Spring 2018 Education Program in Palestine and Jordan. I had one question for you to consider:

  1. I see in your grant report from 2017 that you stated large group size did not work well. However, here you have another 54 people coming to Program 4. How do you plan to keep the attention of your participants and what will you be doing differently?

Best regards, Woubzena

Hi Woubzena, Thanks for approving the grant request. You raise an excellent question about the group size... The way the program at Birzeit University differs from the others is that writing a Wikipedia article is a graded assignment, and the professor is offering full support for it in his classroom, as opposed to programs at other schools where editing activity is extracurricular and completely voluntary. With extracurricular assignments, we've found that students tend to not be as committed as when the assignment is part of a course (and you have to include the whole class in such an assignment). --Fjmustak (talk) 19:56, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello fjmustak thank you for answering my question. I look forward to reading your report on this project and how having assignments as part of a course will increase contributions in comparison to last year's project. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 11:30, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
