Hello Olaniyan Olushola thank you for your patience as we review your request. I am approving your grant request but would like to point out a couple of items to consider:

  • Are you planning to recruit 13 participants per workshop or for all 6 workshops? Please clarify.
As mentioned in our measure of Success, 13 participants only signify the minimum number of people expected. This doesn't connote the actual number of expected participants . From experience, participation per meetup ranges between 15 to 35 depending on availability of our members.
  • The price of the meetup hall is quite high. I am approving this request for now but for future events, is it possible to consider partnering with an institution that could provide a hall or a computer lab?
As a group, one of our area of strength is seeking for partnership with non-wiki based organization to support our programs.For example, we have partnership with Goethe Institute for the use of their hall for some of our events.However, we usually find it difficult to use the space because our meet up usually come up on weekends in order to accommodate most of our members that are working class. For the corporate organization, weekend is their work free days. Therefore, we may not bank on the facility.
  • Can you adjust the food line item to 15 maybe since you're expecting 13 people to be present at each workshop. (If I understood your number of participants right?)
Please refer to my reply above. I will suggest to leave the figure as it were, because it will serve as a compensating bases for cases where the participants would be more than budgeted for .
