Hello Yusuf Sa'adu, thanks again for submitting this Rapid grant application. We are glad to learn that this is your first Wikimedia Foundation grant! I have reviewed your application and have a few questions and requests:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the Wikimedia community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant Hausa community pages on the target wikis? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Do you have any experience in running Wikimedia activities in your community? Could you please share your experience with us?
  • Are you aware of any Wikimedia activities organized in the city of Funtua in the past?
  • You mentioned that you would have other experienced Wikimedians supporting your activities. Will these users travel to Funtua and help you with running the activities?
  • How do you plan to track participants' contributions?
  • You also mentioned that participants will use mobile phones to edit. Have you used a mobile phone to edit in the past? Do you think it’s practical to use mobile phones for this workshop?
  • Could you please respond to question #7 regarding in-person activities?
  • In the detailed budget, please add the number of units and unit prices for each budget item.

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) thanks for reviewing my grant.

Here are the answers for your questions

  • I have announced.
  • I have attended some of the Wikimedia event in Kaduna. I have learned a lot about organizing the event from some Wikimedians event's organizers.
  • There are some of my classmates and people in Funtua who are interested in learning about Wikipedia, I intend to teach them how Wikipedia is and present it in Funtua city.
  • Yes they will come to Funtua and they will stay until the end of our events.
  • I will track the Participants contributions by using #WWF as well as Dashboard if possible.
  • We will rented a Laptops for the event but I will focused on teach them how to edit with smart phones because many of us here we're using only mobile phones. I also used to edit Wikipedia with Mobile Phone in the past.
  • I've already responded it.
  • I have added the number of unit and unit's price as you requested.
