Dear Committee,

I have updated the budget to reflect your suggested changes. I have contributed to Wikisource as a part of the Primary Source Corps project. Thank you for considering my request.

Thanks, hlong-lib: I don't yet see your updates to the budget. Regards, Winifred Olliff (Grants Administrator) talk 02:25, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, Winifred. I've updated that information. hlong-lib

Questions about this request[edit]

Thank you for the request. We think this is a strong request; however, we are concerned about the costs budgeted here:

  1. The cost of accommodation quoted here is higher than we are able to approve: we would expect a hotel cost of US$ 60 - US$90 per night for this area, unless there are special circumstances that require a more expensive hotel. Please adjust the costs in your proposal accordingly, or provide an explanation here.
  2. The cost of per diem is also high:
    • Breakfast and tea are provided at the conference, so these should be deducted from the per diem
    • 2.5 days per diem is likely adequate, as the event itself lasts only 2 days and you are staying in Berkeley only 2 nights.
    • The rate quoted here is higher than the 75% of the GSA rate of US$ 61 recommended by our travel guidelines. This calculation would yield a per diem of US$ 45 per full day.

If you are able to adjust your budget according to the above suggestions, then we'll be happy to approve the request. Regards, Winifred Olliff (Grants Administrator) talk 23:59, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing: since you have not linked to your Username here, would you please let us know if you are a contributor to any Wikimedia projects and provide a link to your Username on any projects on which you are active?
