Grants talk:TPS/Kelvinsong/LGM: Creating textbook-grade SVG illustrations for Wikipedia/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Feedback on report[edit]

Dear Kelvinsong, thank you for for submitting your report. With your significant experience contributing to SVG illustrations on Commons and Wikipedia, you have a lot of knowledge to offer the attendees of the Libre graphics meeting on this topic. It sounds like you led some good discussions there--thank you for including a rundown on audience comments in your report. The Committee is almost ready to approve your report, but we have a couple of questions first:

  • It would be great if you could find a way to share your presentation here so other users could learn from your knowledge on this subject. Is there any way to include your slides and/or the LGM video of your talk with your report? Would it be possible for you to find out if the LGM video might be made available to post as part of your report? Is there another way to format your slides so that they could be added?
  • Would you take another look at your finances section and make sure the total amount you are requesting is right? When I total the numbers, I'm getting a different sum than you.

Thank you! --Mjohnson (WMF) (talk) 20:26, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry that must be because I made a mistake in the table. The hotel cost—$458.20—should be just that, not divided by 2 since it doesn’t matter if 1 or 2 people is staying. && I emailed you the SVG slides and asked the lady who runs the thing when the videos will be up. David Crossland made some recordings but didn’t get all the talks—they had another cameraman do that—Kelvinsong (talk) 01:40, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Report accepted[edit]

Kelvinsong, thank you for sending the slides by email. If you gain access to the video, please do add a link to your report. In the meantime, I am accepting your report here and the Grants Administrator will contact you about the details of your reimbursement. Thank you for your good work in support of SVG illustrations on Commons and Wikipedia! --Mjohnson (WMF) (talk) 15:48, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Amount to reimburse[edit]

Congratulations on finding cheaper airfare than your approved budget, Kelvinsong! That is a rare occurrence for us :) It appears, however, that you overspent on your hotel and meals/incidentals. Since your approved budget for these items were below what's noted on WMF's travel policy, you will be reimbursed up to the maximum allowable for hotel and meals/incidentals using the unused funds from your approved airfare budget, per WMF's travel policy. The total amount for reimbursement is US$698.72. Thank you again for your participation at this year's Libre Graphics Meeting! -- Best, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 00:25, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
