Grants talk:TPS/Robert Radke/SMWCon Fall 2014

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Request for clarification[edit]

Dear Robert Radke,

Thank you for your submission. The committee is currently reviewing your request and would like some clarification on who the two individuals are that will be participating at the conference and what will their level of participation would be. We reached out to the conference organizers to confirm that your talk has been officially accepted at the conference, since we were unable to find the information immediately at the conference website. They provided us with the conference schedule, where we see that Achim is scheduled for a presentation. Is he one of two people who would be funded if your request is approved? Initially, we thought that the travel and participation support funding request was for yourself and Ralf, who submitted the previous request for the spring conference. Thank you in advance with helping us understand some of the details of your submission. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Clarification[edit]

Dear Jtud (WMF),

Achim Bode is necessary for the presentation. He is the programmer of the extension and can answer all questions which might come up. The second person who is part of the grant is me. Because the extension was made in our company I thought it would be useful if I can answer all questions targeting the contribution to the open source scene.

If the community finds the extension useful and wants it open source we are able to contribute immediately.

Achim's part is the expert in the extension an my part is the legal part of the extension.

If you want to grant the visit only partially, please pay the part of Achim.

Request funded[edit]

Thank you for the clarification and your patience during the review period, Robert Radke. Your request is approved! We ask that you share your experience on wikitech-l@lists.wikimedia.org so that the Wikimedia community may also benefit from the extension. We also strongly encourage releasing it under open source right away.

We will contact you via email regarding issuing your grant agreement. -- Best regards, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 17:16, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
