My plan

I am an active Wikimedia contributor from Ghana and a member of several Wikimedia and open knowledge initiatives, contributing mainly to Wikimedia projects focused on education, climate action, environmental sustainability, African knowledge, and youth engagement. My work includes contributions to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons, as well as community outreach and capacity-building activities through Wiki clubs and open knowledge programs. I currently rely on limited personal computing resources, which affects my ability to contribute efficiently to Wikimedia projects, upload and process media files, conduct research, participate in online campaigns and trainings, and support technical and community activities consistently. Receiving a laptop through the Wikimedia Foundation Hardware Donation Program would significantly improve both the quality and scale of my contributions. With proper hardware support, I plan to:

Create and improve articles related to climate change, environmental science, education, Ghanaian communities, and African development topics;
Contribute structured and referenced data on Wikidata;
Upload high-quality photographs and documentation to Wikimedia Commons;
Support Wikimedia outreach activities, edit-a-thons, training sessions, and community engagement programs;
Expand contributions related to underrepresented African content and local knowledge;
Learn and apply advanced Wikimedia tools, data analysis tools, translation tools, and open-source technologies for Wikimedia projects.

As a young environmental scientist and open knowledge advocate, I am committed to promoting free access to knowledge, especially for African communities and students. Access to a reliable laptop would strengthen my ability to contribute consistently, mentor others, and support Wikimedia movement activities both locally and internationally.
