Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you. My name is John Joy. I'm a Student of University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. I am the currently the president of my local community. I am involved with Wikimedia for 2 years and few months with about 5,000 Global edits. I don't have any laptop or desktop now rather a mobile which is also old. Contributing from my mobile device sometimes causes problems and those problems create many complications and hinders me to edit properly on Wikipedia. I need a laptop to contribute to Wikipedia more effectively. But for some financial issues it's not possible personally. So I am requesting a laptop donation from the foundation.

1. Using Content Translation easily without any difficulties. 2. Judging Articles in Fountain Tool as a jury. 3. Help my University Local Wiki Chapter to Spread Wikimedia movement creating Digital path-way. 4. Editing long pages without any hesitation or difficulties. 5. Have a smooth zoom video meeting with Wikimedia Community. 6. Patrolling recent changes and make appropriate edits without complexity. 7. Open references with multitasking capacity. Using Visual Editor easily. 8. Deisgn event graphics for event in my local chapter.

Beside my local wiki, In English Wikipedia I am an Extended autoconfirmed user with 300+ edits in 67 pages. I have uploaded around 100 pictures in Commons. Some of them were granted for quality picture. I have near 300 edits in Commons and 150+ edits in Wikidata. I always believed in Working offline and get contact with Wikimedians. I have a close contact and involvement with Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation.

1.  Support I remember during one of my trainings in Ibadan, I came with two laptops and a tablet. I shared my devices with participants that I felt were more enthusiastic about learning how to edit Wikipedia, Johnjoy was one of them. At the end of the editathon, he was one of the winners (I can't remember if he was 1st, 2nd or 3rd) but I know he got a prize from me. After the contest, his editing trajectory has reduced, likely due to unavailability of devices. I am of the opinion that if he is given one, he would contribute more to Wikipedia, and lead others to do same, especially since he is actively involved with the Wikimedia movement at University of Ibadan.HandsomeBoy (talk) 10:09, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
