If you have lost access to your Wikimedia account, the simplest solution is to create a new account and optionally link to your old one on its user page. If you would like to regain access, you can request help from the Wikimedia Foundation's Trust and Safety team. This process uses Zendesk, a Help Center platform.

Using the Account Recovery form

  • If you know the password to the account, attempt to log in. You may be prompted for a verification code sent to your email. If you do not receive that code, you may follow the given link to the Account Recovery form. Fill in your information.
    • Please note that information provided in this form will be sent to Zendesk, a third-party platform. Information sent to Zendesk is subject to its Privacy Policy.
  • You will be asked to confirm your email address. Go to your email inbox and click the link in the verification email. This will submit your request.

Support staff will never ask you for your password. Do not share your Wikipedia password with anyone.
