[edit]
  • I am a student. I make new students in my University aware of the Wikimedia project by telling them the basics of the Wikimedia project and help them as a guide and assistant. Along with this, I also promote this project extensively in various educational institutions in Kolkata. I discussed the progress made by the community, challenges while working on Wikisource, learning new tasks and more progress in the future in Wikimedia workshops like Wikisource Skill Building meet up, हिन्दी विकि सम्मेलन 2020, TTT 2024 etc. I try to solve all the problems faced by the members related to the Wiki project with my best efforts and help the members of my community as much as possible. Currently I am working in the Indic Oral Culture project. During this time I have collected videos of folk songs of Magahi language of Oral Culture and traditions and uploaded them on Wikicommons and also uploaded those songs on Wikisource and translated them. I also discussed the progress of this project in the Indic Oral Culture meet up. So I help promote community engagement, capacity building, and knowledge sharing among contributors.

Track Preference

[edit]

Your preferred track during the workshop

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling
  • Track 2: Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action
  • Track 2: Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]
  • I am most interested in the Micro-project Design Challenge which will help me design and implement a project on a small scale. This track will help me to enhance and strengthen my skills in documenting Oral Culture, integrating it into Wikisource, etc. This track is more relevant to my work as it emphasizes on converting knowledge into practical, small-scale projects. This project will help me strengthen my capabilities in a more effective way.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]
  • Nil

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • Througt this training, I hope to gain skills in Micro-project design. I want to understand the advantages and disadvantages of both design options and strike a balance between them so that the outcome is good. These skills will enhance my current role and responsibilities more effectively.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • I have been facing the challenge of preparing a Micro-project. I lack understanding of what tools or indicators show the growth of the community or the quality of the content over time. I would like to develop skills and tools to overcome such shortcomings so that the project progresses smoothly.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • I hope that after this event, I will be able to involve members of my community in the project. I will help the members, actively share in community meet-ups, workshops etc. In future. I will try to spread the benefits of this training to the group at large so that everyone benefits and project progresses.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • Yes I am open to both.
