- Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action
Which track are you most interested in and why?
[edit]- I have been contributing to marathi wikisource quite proficiently and persistently. There is a need to make a more focussed attempt to develop a robust database of marathi literature on wikidata. It is possible to develop a timebound, output specific micro-project to achieve substantial part of this goal. I would like to pursue this idea further and would appreciate any help possible.
Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role
[edit]- I have published a paper exploring Role of open knowledge in implementing NEP2020
What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?
[edit]- How to use tools available on wiki platform to design and execute a project
- How to mobilise resources for a project (human as well as financial resources)
Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.
[edit]- Nature of contribution to marathi Wikisource is vast and unending. Further, connecting wikisource to other wiki projects is challenging. The volume of work is quite overwhelming. It is therefore necessary to breakdown this vast work into 'achievable' chunks. It will then be possible to mobilise human resources to achieve these targets. It will be possible to develop measured incentives to encourage further participation.
How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?
[edit]- Currently, I am interested in developing database of Marathi Literature using wikidata. The work has already started but needs further focus. I would like to create database of at least 100 Marathi Authors and compiling their work using wikidata. I have not yet though of partners or communities, but it will be possible to incentivise further contribution from other wikimedians
(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?
[edit]- yes
