[edit]Track Preference
[edit]Your preferred track during the workshop
[edit]- Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling
- Track 2: Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action
Which track are you most interested in and why?
[edit]Track 2: Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action - I would choose Evaluation & Impact because I believe measuring success is as important as designing projects. I want to strengthen my ability to track outcomes, analyze participation and retention, and present results effectively. These skills will enable me to make data-driven decisions, improve strategies, and ensure that every effort creates real value. For my capacity-building work, understanding impact is crucial to scaling initiatives and sustaining long-term benefits. By mastering evaluation, I can not only refine my projects but also inspire others in my community to adopt a results-oriented approach for greater collective impact.
Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?
[edit]Through this training, I want to learn how to turn data into powerful stories that truly reflect the impact of our work. Numbers and reports are useful, but they often fail to show the real difference we’re making. I want to go beyond charts and figures and learn how to present information in a way that connects with people, inspires action, and builds trust. By gaining these skills, I can highlight the success of our campaigns, show how each contribution matters, and motivate both new and long-time members. I also hope to improve my ability to analyze participation, measure outcomes, and use insights to plan better projects for the future. For me, it’s about making data meaningful so our work not only creates impact but also tells a story that others want to be part of.
Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.
[edit]One challenge I’ve faced in evaluating Wikimedia programs is that our usual approach focuses mainly on counting articles created. This doesn’t fully capture what truly matters thequality and cultural relevance of the content for our language community. Another challenge is that many contributors are familiar with Wikipedia but not with other Wikimedia projects. Because of this, we miss opportunities to contribute to platforms like Wikisource or Commons, which are equally important for preserving and sharing knowledge in our language. I believe evaluation should go beyond numbers and consider both the impact of content and how we engage contributors across different projects. Learning better ways to assess these factors will help ensure our work creates meaningful and lasting value for the community.
How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?
[edit]After this event, I plan to take what I’ve learned and use it to start real initiatives in my community. I don’t want the knowledge to just stay as ideas. I want to turn it into actions that make a difference. My focus will be on creating projects that are useful, meaningful, and bring visible improvements for our community.
(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?
[edit]Yes, I am open for both.
