I have helped create and curate initiatives like DCW Conversation Hour, Train-a-Wikipedian, Heritage Lens, among others. I support the organising teams of Wiki Club AMU, Wiki Club Deoband and Wiki Club Jamia as a strategic advisor.
Track Preference
[edit]Your preferred track during the workshop
[edit]- Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling
Which track are you most interested in and why?
[edit]- I am interested in the track Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling because of my own inherent academic and professional interest in evaluation principles and stratgies.
Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role
[edit]- Although I lead all of the initiatives at DCW, my favourites are the DCW Conversation Hour and Train a Wikipedian. Our conversation hours have created a sustainable impact and serve as important resources for the open communities worldwide, and TAW serves as an important residential program to cultivate leadership at a foundational level (with an integration of scientific community) in our community of volunteers. Among the challenges that I have come across, include the adaptability of good evaluation tools.
What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?
[edit]- I look forward to learning more about how good and sustainable evaluation strategies work, and how they are formed, alongside learning the art of digital storytelling. Even though I believe I have been kind of successful in creating a good community, I see myself at a crossroads when it comes to the storytelling part. I hope the learn the complexities around data storytelling.
Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.
[edit]- My major challenges revolve around adabtability of good evaluation tools even though I have been good at designing impactful programs including the Conversation Hour.
How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?
[edit]- Since I chair the Executive Board of DCW, my learnings would be directly beneficial in its development and sustainability. These learnings would also help me to support Wiki Club AMU, Wiki Club Deoband and Wiki Club Jamia more fruitfully.
(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?
[edit]- I am happy to offer mentorship.
