[edit]
  • Track 2: Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action

I am drawn to the Evaluation & Impact focus within this track, as I firmly believe that gauging the success of a project is as critical as its creation. My aim is to enhance my proficiency in tracking measurable outcomes, analyzing patterns in participation and retention, and presenting findings with precision and clarity. These skills will empower me to make informed, data-driven decisions, optimize project strategies, and ensure that every initiative delivers tangible, lasting value. In my capacity-building endeavors, mastering impact evaluation is vital for scaling efforts and fostering sustainable growth. By honing these abilities, I seek not only to refine my own projects but also to inspire my community to embrace a results-driven approach, amplifying our collective impact within the Wikimedia movement and beyond.

[edit]

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • Through the Advance Train The Trainer (ATTT) 2025 program, I aspire to acquire advanced skills in project evaluation and impact measurement. As an educator and dedicated Wikimedia contributor, my goal is to master effective techniques for assessing student learning and project outcomes while honing the art of data storytelling to communicate results with clarity and impact. These competencies will empower me to design, implement, and evaluate small-scale educational and community initiatives, enhancing my academic role and fostering sustainable growth in Wikimedia projects. By integrating these skills, I aim to create meaningful, data-informed contributions that strengthen both my educational endeavors and the broader Wikimedia movement, aligning with the mission of the Open Knowledge Initiatives (OKI) to promote equitable access to knowledge.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • A key challenge I’ve faced in evaluating Wikimedia programs is engaging with a small, committed group of Santali contributors. Conventional metrics, which often prioritize article counts, tend to undervalue the quality and cultural relevance of content created for our language community. This insight has underscored the importance of focusing on the depth and significance of contributions, revealing that true impact lies in the value these articles bring to our community, far beyond mere numerical tallies.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • After the event, I plan to harness my newly acquired skills in program evaluation and impact measurement to revolutionize the assessment of Wikimedia projects within my Santali community. By leading engaging workshops and fostering collaborative discussions, I will share these insights, inspiring fellow contributors to emphasize the quality and cultural relevance of content over mere numerical metrics. These enriched approaches will empower our community to craft more impactful projects, mentor newcomers with confidence, and convey our contributions with clarity and purpose to both community members and educators, driving sustainable growth in our Wikimedia initiatives.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • Yes, I am open for both.
