Have you participated in any Train the Trainer or similar Wikimedia training before? If yes, please mention the name of the event along with the year in which you participated

[edit]
  • No formal Train the Trainer program yet, but I have participated in Wikimedia Technology Summit 2024, Indic MediaWiki Hackathon 2024, and Wiki Tech Graduation Ceremony 2024 where I presented technical sessions.

Are you currently involved in any leadership, facilitation, or mentoring roles within the Wikimedia movement? If yes, briefly describe the imitative and your involvement in it

[edit]
  • I have been actively leading and facilitating Wikimedia activities in India and globally. As a founding member of Wiki Club SATI, I organized workshops, technical trainings, and outreach programs to build local capacity. I have facilitated sessions on MediaWiki development, Gerrit, and Phabricator, helping newcomers understand Wikimedia’s technical ecosystem.
  • As part of WikiVibrance core team, I contribute to youth engagement and knowledge-sharing activities, ensuring better participation in global campaigns. I have also taken leadership roles in thematic campaigns such as Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 Jury, Wikimania 2025 Program Reviewers core team, Co-lead Medicinal Tree Mapping Campaign, and the upcoming Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India, where I am serving as Project Lead.

Track Preference

[edit]

Your preferred track during the workshop

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling
  • I am most interested in Track 1 because many of my ongoing initiatives, such as the Wiki Loves Science competition and local Wiki Club programs, require strong impact measurement to sustain and grow. While I have experience in event organization and mentoring, I want to strengthen my ability to evaluate outcomes, analyze participation trends, and communicate impact with data-driven stories that align with Wikimedia’s global mission.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]
  • Currently, I am coordinating Wiki Science Competition in India, where my work involves outreach, supporting contributors, and tracking submissions for the campaign. Earlier, as part of Wiki Club SATI, I led technical workshops on MediaWiki tools and OAuth integration, where I prepared content and guided participants step by step. I also worked with other Wikimedia communities to exchange resources and strengthen collaboration. These roles helped me understand how to balance planning, facilitation, and community needs in practice.

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • Practical methods to evaluate programs and campaigns
  • Using metrics and storytelling to show long-term community impact
  • Tools for data visualization and reporting
  • Approaches to connect program outcomes with Wikimedia’s mission in education and free knowledge

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • One of the challenges I have faced while coordinating Wiki Science Competition and Wiki Club SATI workshops is evaluating and presenting impact. While numbers such as uploads or attendance are easy to track, it is much harder to reflect the skills participants gain, the confidence they build, or the educational value of their contributions. Without clear frameworks, these important aspects often remain invisible, making it difficult to show the true value of our work to affiliates and the wider community.

Application of Learning

[edit]
  • Develop practical evaluation frameworks for Wiki Club SATI programs and national campaigns like Wiki Science Competition
  • Share knowledge with Indic communities to strengthen reporting and storytelling practices
  • Apply data insights to design sustainable outreach strategies and prepare stronger proposals

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • I plan to develop simple evaluation frameworks for emerging youth initiative programs and national campaigns like (e.g. wiki science competiton), so that impact goes beyond numbers and captures learning outcomes. I will also share these practices with Indic communities to help improve reporting and storytelling. Insights from the event will guide me in designing sustainable outreach strategies and preparing stronger proposals.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • Yes, I am open to both
