Which track are you most interested in and why?

• Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action

I am most interested in the “Micro-Project Design” track, as it encourages participants to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts. I believe that designing and implementing small-scale, actionable projects can create meaningful impact and foster long-term engagement in the Wikimedia movement.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

• I have organized workshops for new Wikipedia users at our university where I Introduced participants to the fundamentals of Wikipedia and raised awareness about the value and scope of Wikimedia projects.

• I served as the Tulu organizer for Asian month 2024. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Asian_Month_2024/Join_an_Event

• As a member of the Kannada team for the Oral Indic Enhancement initiative, I contributed to documenting the rich folk traditions of North Karnataka. Our team created and uploaded over 50 high-quality videos to Wikimedia Commons. Notably, three of these videos were recognized globally as “Best Video of the Day” on Commons , an important milestone for the Kannada community.

• As part of the Movement Charter Ambassador Program, along with my team we played a key role in translating over 100 pages from English to Kannada. we worked to ensure accurate and accessible translations, further strengthening community engagement and enhancing language representation on Wikimedia platforms.

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

  • I hope to enhance my mentorship abilities and strengthen my technical knowledge to design, implement, and evaluate Wikimedia projects more effectively.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

  • I have several ideas for mini-projects, but I often face challenges in structuring them effectively and understanding the steps to move forward. I hope to learn how to transform these ideas into well-planned initiatives, and in the future, I plan to apply for a Rapid Fund to support these projects.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

  • I plan to share the knowledge and skills I gain from this training with fellow Wikimedians and students at my university, ensuring a wider impact through mentorship and community engagement.

  • Yes, I am open to receiving mentorship to advance my technical skills and knowledge. At the same time, I would be glad to share my learnings and experiences with fellow Wikimedians to support their growth.
