  • Track 1

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]

I am most interested in Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling because it directly relates to my work in the Wikimedia and open-source ecosystem. As Lead Developer of Indic-TechCom and co-founder of the Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group, I focus not only on building tools but also on measuring their effectiveness and community impact. Through mentoring, trainings, and hackathons, I have seen how evaluation and storytelling inspire collaboration and sustainability. This track will help me strengthen my ability to use data to assess outcomes and craft narratives that showcase the real-world value of technical contributions.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • Through this training, I hope to strengthen my skills in evaluation methods, data analysis, and impact storytelling.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • One challenge I have often faced in evaluating Wikimedia programs is capturing the long-term impact of technical initiatives. For example, after organizing hackathons or developing community tools, it is relatively easy to track immediate outputs such as participation numbers or code contributions. However, measuring how these efforts translate into sustained engagement, improved workflows, or broader community growth has been more difficult. This gap has shown me the importance of establishing clearer evaluation frameworks and storytelling practices.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • Yes, in our user group, we have several events lined up. So will apply there.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • No
