Track Preference

[edit]

Your preferred track during the workshop

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling. My current work focuses on digital education, open knowledge, and bridging the digital divide, where evaluating initiatives and measuring their impact are essential. Learning effective approaches to assess outcomes and communicate results through data storytelling will help me strengthen my Wikimedia-related activities, demonstrate impact more clearly, and inspire wider community engagement

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • Lumbini Technological University (Wikimedia and Education Program):

Learn how to systematically assess students’ engagement and learning outcomes, and use data storytelling to show the educational value of Wikimedia projects.

  • Wikimedia and Education Program Apply impact evaluation methods to measure digital literacy improvements and demonstrate the effectiveness of Wikimedia integration in higher education.
  • Wikipedia 20 Celebration with Digital Awareness Develop skills to capture participation data and communicate community impact more effectively, highlighting the importance of digital awareness campaigns.
  • Art + Feminism (Enhancing Digital Skills) Gain tools to measure the inclusivity and gender-equity outcomes of the campaign, and present results in a way that inspires further participation and support.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • One challenge I have encountered is effectively evaluating the long-term impact of Wikimedia and Education programs. For example, during initiatives at Lumbini Technological University and Kailali Multiple Campus, it was relatively easy to record participation numbers, but more difficult to measure how students’ digital literacy, critical thinking, or engagement with open knowledge evolved over time. Similarly, in events like the Wikipedia 20 Digital Awareness campaign and Art+Feminism, I found it challenging to move beyond counting participants to capturing deeper stories of impact. This experience showed me the need to develop stronger skills in evaluation frameworks and data storytelling to better document both quantitative and qualitative outcomes.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • I plan to apply what I learn by integrating evaluation and data storytelling practices into my Wikimedia and Education initiatives. At Lumbini Technological University and Kailali Multiple Campus, I will use these skills to better measure student learning outcomes and demonstrate the educational value of Wikimedia projects. For community programs such as the Wikipedia 20 Digital Awareness campaign and Art+Feminism, I will apply improved impact assessment methods to capture both data and stories, making the results more meaningful and shareable. Overall, I aim to use these insights to strengthen program design, engage more stakeholders, and inspire broader participation in the Wikimedia movement.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • I value the opportunity to contribute to others’ work and to grow by learning from their experiences.
