Track Preference

[edit]

Your preferred track during the workshop

[edit]
  • Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]
  • I am most interested in the Micro-Project Design Challenge - From Learning to Action track. My role is to guide participants in documenting oral culture, uploading videos to Wikimedia Commons, and integrating them into Wikipedia and Wikisource. This track aligns with my work as I work with women in Vigyan Ashrams as well as school students.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]
  • I contributed to the She Leads campaign project 2024 as a project coordinator. The project aimed to create video documentation of individuals from diverse backgrounds and endangered traditions. It also strengthened my skills in leadership, collaborative problem-solving, and influencing a broad audience.

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

[edit]
  • I work at Vigyan Ashram, so it will help me design small, sustainable projects that encourage long-term community engagement. These skills will not only enhance my current role as a project coordinator, but will also enable me to take on larger responsibilities within the Wikimedia movement.

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • The challenge I faced was to explain the project to the other person, to design it in a way that would be easy for participants and effective for the wider Wikimedia community. In the She Leads project, some participants needed additional guidance to translate their training into concrete actions, such as uploading videos or integrating content into Wikimedia projects.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • I plan to apply the skills gained encouraging collaboration among user groups, supporting new contributors, and building partnerships with cultural organizations and archives to expand documentation of oral traditions.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • Yes, I am open to both
