Which track are you most interested in and why?
[edit]I am more interested in track 1. There are primarily two reasons for that:
- Being a developer and someone who designs and develops different projects and participates in different events, I want to develop skills to evaluate and analyse the impact of different Wikimedia Initiatives and projects, especially the ones I am associated with.
- I want to be able to narrate to people more about the impact that the work of all the volunteers and people associated with Wikimedia creates. People don't realize the impact of various Wikimedia initiatives other than Wikipedia.
Being able to analyze impact in both qualitative and quantitative terms allows me to talk more about my work at the wiki with other people.
Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role
[edit]I contributed to Kochi Hackathon 2025 as a mentor and had 4 great contributors working with me.
We all were able to learn from each other, and all the contributors went home after learning some new concepts(mainly technical), and helped me develop some great leadership skills. At the same time, we were able to complete some crucial tasks for our project for the hackathon (Lingua Libre).
I find everyone's work there valuable and impactful
What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?
[edit]As discussed above, I want to be able to analyse and measure the impact of Wikimedia Initiatives and projects. I want to be more involved with Wikimedia in the future in organizing events. Being able to evaluate impact through proper methods helps me become a good organizer overall.
Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.
[edit]It's hard to explain how people impact different projects/events created, and hence they are hard to talk about. But as a participant, I understand the impact they create, its just that I am unable to describe it in some metrics or don't have a proper method.
How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?
[edit]I will apply the knowledge I gain in the event to analyse the impact of different Wikimedia projects/events, especially the ones I am associated with, and will narrate the impact with other people, and will be able to encourage more people to be part of the movement.
