Are you currently involved in any leadership, facilitation, or mentoring roles within the Wikimedia movement? If yes, briefly describe the imitative and your involvement in it

[edit]
  • Yes. I have actively participated in Wikimania 2025 and multiple Indic Wikimedia Hackathons (Kochi 2024 & 2025, Bhubaneswar 2024), where I collaborated with peers on technical projects, helped fix crucial bugs, and ensured projects were successfully built and delivered. In addition, I mentor students at amFOSS, guiding them through open-source projects and organizing hackathons in collaboration with the Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group, fostering peer learning and hands-on engagement. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills within the Wikimedia community.

Track Preference

[edit]

Your preferred track during the workshop

[edit]
  • Track 1: Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling
  • Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action
  • Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action

Which track are you most interested in and why?

[edit]
  • I am most interested in Track 2: Micro-Project Design Challenge – From Learning to Action because, while I have primarily contributed to Wikimedia through technical projects and hackathons, I want to broaden my skill set by developing leadership, facilitation, and community-building capabilities. This track offers an opportunity to translate learning into actionable projects that create meaningful impact for contributors and communities. By engaging with structured project planning, peer feedback, and mentorship, my goal is to design a community-rooted micro-project that leverages my technical background while strengthening my ability to guide and empower others, ultimately contributing to the growth and sustainability of Wikimedia initiatives.

Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role

[edit]
  • I have yet to lead a Wikimedia program or initiative, but I have collaborated on technical projects and supported peers within the Wikimedia community. I am eager to develop leadership, facilitation, and project design skills through Advance TTT 2025 so that I can initiate and guide impactful community projects in the future.

What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?

Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.

[edit]
  • A key challenge I have encountered is translating technical ideas into structured, impactful projects within the Wikimedia community. While I have contributed to tools and collaborative initiatives, I have not yet led a project from conception to implementation. This has sometimes made it difficult to maximize the community impact of my contributions or ensure that others can easily build upon them. Through Track 2 of Advance TTT 2025, I hope to gain the skills and frameworks needed to plan, execute, and guide community-rooted projects effectively, bridging the gap between technical work and meaningful, sustainable outcomes.

How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?

[edit]
  • After Advance TTT 2025, I plan to apply what I learn by designing and leading a micro-project that directly benefits Wikimedia contributors, especially newcomers in technical spaces. I want to create a structured framework for mentoring and onboarding, where participants can collaborate on tools, fix issues, and build projects while learning together. Beyond this, I aim to share the learnings and frameworks with my local and online communities, documenting outcomes, creating guides, and mentoring others so that the impact scales and inspires future contributors. Essentially, I want to bridge my technical experience with leadership and community-building, turning ideas into actionable projects that strengthen Wikimedia’s ecosystem.

(Optional) Are you open to mentorship (either receiving or offering it)?

[edit]
  • Yes
