Yes, I am involved Outreach Project and bangla wikisource project Coordinator. My role is to organize events and conduct workshops and monthly meetups organized by our community.Link1. Link2
I have always loved micro-project design, currently a Bengali Wikisource project called Federation Hall Library is in progress. I work as a Coordinator on that project, initiating projects through various meetings and discussions.
Tell us about one Wikimedia program, campaign, or initiative you’ve contributed to in a leadership role
I have been conducting Wikipedia workshops for the past few years, one of which is the Wiki Workshop Newtown Vidyastu. I create the perfect workshop by discussing with both side in this Wikipedia workshop, creating the agenda and creating the program schedule.Link
What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this training?
I also want to learn better ways to document and share the impact of a project so that it not only sustains itself but also has the potential to grow and inspire others.I can learn to design my projects more effectively by carefully weighing the advantages, disadvantages, and trade-offs between different options. I can also set realistic deadlines and work towards completing the entire task on time.
Based on your selected track, what is one challenge you have encountered in either evaluating Wikimedia programs or designing impactful projects? Please share your experience relevant to your chosen track.
One challenge I faced in a project was dealing with apathy from stakeholders. For example, while trying to launch a GLAM project with Bangla Wikisource, we invested time in long meetings and discussions, but progress stalled midway because the library officials showed little interest. However, by re-engaging them in further discussions and adapting our approach, we were able to overcome these setbacks and move the project toward its goal.
How do you plan to apply what you learn after the event?
I plan to apply these learnings in designing Bangla Wikimedia projects through community participation assessment methods and better planning. I will share this knowledge with my community by organizing workshops, meetups, and developing project guides, so that more members are empowered to start and lead effective projects.
