Which ideas, tools, or methods from the training have you actually used?
We implemented an event registration tool for our community campaigns. Additionally, leveraging the session on AI chatbots, I built several basic tools designed to simplify the contribution process for community members, based on my previous wiki experience.
How did they help in practice?
I focused on the Project Design track to learn how to create more practical frameworks for campaigns and workshops. Key takeaways included comparing past and current methodologies, as well as understanding the broader on-wiki and off-wiki impacts of contests and events.
Have you noticed any changes, improvements, or learning so far? (This could be about participants, content quality, team processes, reporting, or community engagement.)
I have noticed a significant shift in my problem-solving approach. I’ve learned that when faced with a challenge, it is essential to take the time to analyze the issue stepwise—identifying the root cause and the specific area of friction before jumping to a solution.
What has been difficult while applying what you learned?
While launching a new project is relatively straightforward, ensuring long-term sustainability remains a challenge. It can be difficult when strategies you feel confident about don’t perform as expected in a real-world setting.
Where did you get stuck?
There is often a gap between theory and practice. While I feel prepared during the planning phase, unforeseen challenges frequently arise during the actual implementation of a project.
What kind of help would make your next step easier? (Mentoring, peer review, technical help, evaluation guidance, partnerships, funding advice, etc.)
Peer reviews would be incredibly valuable. Having someone look at a project from an outside perspective helps identify blind spots or issues that are difficult to see when you are deeply involved in the internal operations.
I plan to apply these strategic planning and implementation methods to my upcoming projects. My goal is to develop long-term initiatives that are designed to be self-sustaining.
What collaborations emerged because of Advanced TTT, and what became possible that might not have happened otherwise?
The most significant outcome was the peer networking. This event brought together participants from diverse linguistic and regional communities across India, enabling connections and potential collaborations that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
