On behalf of the Telugu Wikimedians User Group, we are organising a community project titled "Telugu Wikipedia Expansion Program," in collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation and Google. This initiative spans one year, from October 2025 to September 2026.
The objective of the project is to create more than 4,000 new articles for Telugu Wikipedia by organising at least four edit-a-thons and to improve the quality of existing articles.
Community Outreach: To conduct eight offline outreach programs aimed at expanding the Telugu Wikipedia user base and to train these new users thoroughly through 30 online training sessions.
Have you noticed any changes, improvements, or learning so far? (This could be about participants, content quality, team processes, reporting, or community engagement.)
50% of the target was met in terms of new articles, 20% of the listed articles were improved. Internship programs and training sessions were conducted.
