Iranian Wikimedians User Group/Farsi Wikipedia 15th birthday
The fifteenth birthday of the Persian Wikipedia was held on Tehran With the presence of old wiki users from all over Iran and cooperation with CafeBazaar company. In this event, after the greeting by Mohsen Salek, Mansour Forouzesh talked about “How to write a featured article” and common problems. Then User:Freshman404 spoke about “How Wikipedia shapes science” and presents the result of relevant research. Then User:Mohammad explained the “Wikidata” and how we can using and contribute to the project. After the break, Arash Soleimani talked and discussed about the Wikipedia progression and analyzed the user participation. We had three more presentations about Wikipedia Management, Notability and Vandalism that were presented by User:Behzad39, User:Mehdi and User:Pirhayati.
Then a video was shown by Katherine Maher and Jimmy Wales about this event. (with Farsi subtitle)
Afterward, guests were presented with a birthday cake, and a group photo was taken and singing Happy Birthday!
In the end, Mohammad Heidarzadeh invited some old users and administrators to the meeting room and we discussed Wikipedia important issues and solutions for 2 hours. It was fun, friendly and helpful.
