From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The "Women in Red 2025 Introduction" took place on Sunday, March 12, 2025 (3 Farvardin 1404) from 19:30 to 21:00 Tehran time (17:00 to 18:30 Western European time) via Google Meet.

The session began with Darafsh providing an overview of the Women in Red article writing contest, explaining its objectives and importance in increasing coverage of notable women on Persian Wikipedia.

Following this, WASP-Outis gave a detailed, step-by-step tutorial on how to use content translation tools effectively, guiding participants through the process of translating articles from other languages into Persian.

Next, Harold Krabs demonstrated how to leverage ChatGPT for translating Women in Red articles, showing participants how artificial intelligence can assist in producing draft translations that can then be refined and edited manually for quality and accuracy.

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where attendees raised various queries related to article creation, translation techniques, and the use of AI tools in Wikipedia editing.

This session served as a valuable introduction to the Women in Red 2025 campaign for new editors, combining practical training with community engagement to encourage participation in increasing the representation of women on Persian Wikipedia.
