Iraqi Wikimedians (In Arabic: ويكيميديا العراق) is a dedicated user group within the Wikimedia community with a mission to support and contribute to Wikimedia projects in iraq. Established in October 2015, our primary objectives include providing support to Iraqi Wikimedians in both Arabic and Kurdish languages.

Objectives

  1. Expand and enhance Wikipedia articles related to Iraq, encouraging global contributors, with a focus on local participation.
  2. Enrich content on Iraq's heritage, environment, history, religion, and various cultural aspects.
  3. Provide detailed information, images, and data on religious shrines and sites across Iraq.
  4. Facilitate accessibility for readers and researchers to explore the diverse religious landscape in different regions.
  5. Utilize social media platforms to deepen understanding and appreciation for wiki projects.
  6. Foster an engaged community actively contributing to knowledge sharing and dissemination.
  7. Recruit new Wikimedians to expand the community and enrich diverse perspectives.
  8. Organize activities integrating Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, including Photowalking for Commons and cataloging books in Wikidata through unpacking sessions.
