The Kannada-Tulu Language Group is a collective of Wikimedia contributors who collaborate to promote Wikimedia projects and free knowledge in Kannada and Tulu languages.
Objectives
  • Community Building: Bringing together editors from the Kannada and Tulu communities to collaborate and share knowledge.
  • Content Enrichment: Enhancing the quality and quantity of content in Kannada and Tulu on Wikimedia projects.
  • Outreach and Training: Organizing workshops, edit-a-thons, and training sessions to onboard new editors and improve the skills of existing contributors.
  • Preservation of Culture and Language: Promoting the documentation and preservation of Kannada and Tulu culture, history, and literature through Wikimedia platforms.
  • Advocacy and Partnerships: Collaborating with educational institutions, cultural organizations to advocate for the importance of free knowledge in regional languages.
  • Gender Gap and Equity: Encouraging participation from underrepresented genders and promoting gender equity in Wikimedia projects.
  • Inclusivity: Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for contributors from diverse backgrounds.
