Karavali Wikimedians Stall & Community Meetup at Mangaluru Lit Fest 2026

Introduction
[edit]The Karavali Wikimedians User Group is pleased to announce its participation in the 8th Edition of the Mangaluru Literature Festival (#MlrLitFest). This year’s festival is a milestone event, serving as the official kick-off for the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Tulu Wikipedia and a local celebration of Wikipedia’s 25th birthday.
Objectives
[edit]- Showcase: Highlight Wikimedia projects and community initiatives to the public and language enthusiasts.
- Documentation: Promote cultural and linguistic documentation in the Karavali region.
- Engagement: Recruit new editors and provide a physical touchpoint for the local community.
Wiki Stall Details
[edit]A dedicated stall will be active throughout both days of the festival. We invite community members to:
- Visit: Stop by to interact with visitors and share your experience.
- Volunteer: Help manage the stall, distribute brochures, and demonstrate live editing.
- Outreach: Engage with writers and cultural enthusiasts to explain the importance of Open Access.
Special Community Meetup
[edit]A formal gathering for Karavali Wikimedians and interested volunteers will be held on the second day.
