Provincial Photowalk Series- Province No. 2, Nepal

The focus of the Provincial Photo walk series is to upload the free licence photos of the Nepalese provincial assembly members, Governors, Ministers and Ministry offices of the Provinces of Nepal. This is an important initiative for the community because it help us to collaborate with the provincial government authorities and fulfill the requirement of images to the Wikipedia articles in many languages. There are seven provinces in Nepal.

The first series of the event will be completed in Province No. 2 capital city Janakpur. This project expected to set the landmark for the community wikipedians to collaborate and help to success the project.

Women Participation in Wikipedia

Women Participation in Wikipedia is a specific women oriented campaign, which aim is to bring new women editors, improve of the skills of existing women editors, expand and create new articles about women on Wikipedia and upload some photographs of Rural women of eastern Nepal in traditional dress. The campaign was started in March and completed in August, 2019.

The intended purpose of the campaign was to make women's to read and write some new articles about women and other female related topics on Wikipedia.

Women Participation in Wikipedia Orientation Program

Kanya Madhyamik Vidyaalaya (Girl High School), Rajbiraj

We have organized an orientation class about Wikipedia in Girl High School, Rajbiraj focusing girl students of class 9 & 10. The intention behind the program is to aware women students about Wikipedia and Wikimedia Projects and make them interested to participate in Women participation in Wikipedia Workshop.

We have organized an orientation class about Wikipedia in Caliber International College, Rajbiraj focusing girl students of Intermediate and Bachelor (Management Stream). The intention behind the program is to aware women students about Wikipedia and Wikimedia Projects and make them interested to participate in Women participation in Wikipedia Workshop.

Saptarishi Multiple College, Rajbiraj

We have organized an orientation class about Wikipedia in Saptarishi Multiple College, Rajbiraj focusing girl students of Bachelor (Business Administration Stream). The intention behind the program is to aware women students about Wikipedia and Wikimedia Projects and make them interested to participate in Women participation in Wikipedia Workshop.

Women Participation in Wikipedia Workshop Program

1^st Workshop

We have organized a workshop for interested participants from Women Participation in Wikipedia orientation program. We invited the interested female students to train them about basic steps of Wikipedia. We started the workshop with basic steps like- information about Wikipedia, creating user accounts, how to find articles and how to edit Wikipedia. We have total 15 interested female students from different schools and colleges of Rajbiraj participated in first Workshop of Women Participation in Wikipedia.

We invited the interested female students to train them about basic steps of Wikipedia and existing members to improve their skills. We started the workshop with basic steps like- information about Wikipedia, creating user accounts, how to find articles and how to edit Wikipedia. We have total 30 interested female students from different schools and colleges of Rajbiraj participated in first Workshop of Women Participation in Wikipedia.

Maithili Wikipedia Strategy Salons

1^st Meeting

We have notified the community a week ago to participate in this event . We arranged the event at a convenient location, which can be accessed easily. We begin the Wikimedia Strategy Salon from 11 am by introducing Wikipedia, Wikimedia projects and Wikimedia 2030 Strategic Direction. There were some new faces at the event so we started the event smoothly.

2^nd Meeting

We have chosen the topic ‘’Partnership’’ to discuss with the authority of Rajbiraj Municipality in our second meeting. We just want to let them know about our global movement, what we are doing and what is our mission. We initiated the session giving them information about Wikipedia and Wikimedia Projects, our previous work with the colleges and schools as well with one GLAM institution. After the overview about Wikipedia, we moved into the main strategic topic. The Salon participants were authorities and employees of Rajbiraj Municipality and they share their experience regarding Partnership. We are also thankful to city Mayor, who gave us his valuable time attending the whole session. Here below are the suggestions about how to do partnership with the organization locally?

Maithili Wikipedia 5th Anniversary

Maithili Wikipedia completed its fifth year on 7 November 2019. To celebrate the event, Maithili Wikimedians team members have organized an anniversary celebration with it's team members.

The event and prize distribution was organized at Jaycees Bhawan Conference Hall, Rajbiraj. In the events, Maithili Wikimedians, Maithili linguists, and Maithili journalists spoke about the need for a Maithili Wikipedia and its importance.
