What is this Wikimeet?
[edit]This is a casual social event for people in or near Cardiff to meet other people interested in Wikipedia.
We're meeting at the reservoir because Wiki Loves Earth in Wales is moving to May and June this year and the reservoir is an eligible location for Wiki Loves Earth entries!
If the weather is nice, we can go for a walk and take some photos. If the weather is miserable, over (optional) coffee and snacks we can talk about the various projects we are working on (or would like to get involved with), ask for some information or advice on something or talk about what sort of in person Wiki activities we might like in Cardiff.
Who is this event for?
[edit]You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, but this is also an open invite for anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia and its sister projects (in either Welsh or English).
Is this event in Welsh or English?
[edit]Both! Either! If you'd like to speak Welsh, Gemma is bilingual and happy to chat to you in either Welsh or English. Chat to your fellow Wikipedians in whatever mix of languages you like!
Whatever language/s you edit Wiki in (or would like to edit in), you are warmly welcomed and we will make sure you are included.
Finding us
[edit]The venue is in north Cardiff. It's well served by public transport and has cycle and car parking onsite. All the information you need can be found at the visitor centre's own website.
If I can bag a table, look out for a table with Wikipedia merch! If I can't bag a table, I look like this and I will be in the cafe or patio area. If you're anxious, please message User:Gemma Coleman (WMUK) and I can give you my mobile number to help you find us on the day.
