Wikipedia and You - How to Edit, Upload and Read![edit]

This is the organisation page for the Wikipedia Editing Day on the 12th of November at Manchester Digital Laboratory in conjunction with Manchester Girl Geeks. The day started with a talk on the basics of Wikipedia. After that however, the discussions focused on the following topics:

  • Assist members of the public in using Wikipedia (including creating their accounts and making their first edits)
  • Teach members of the public how to correct errors on Wikipedia (sometimes in a way that ensures a lack of COI)
  • Teach members of the public how to critically assess articles
  • Teach members of the public how to upload images under a free license

The signup page was here.

List of Parties Interested in Future Events[edit]

  • I'd be well up for this. Jimmy was on Radio 3 last night talking about the problems caused by us being 87% male. Unfortunately I'm gonna be in London. Up for future events. Yaris678 19:28, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Bad timing as I'm doing a shift the night before. Certainly would be interested in future events. WormTT 13:26, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
