Why is this user awesome? A long-time contributor in the English-language WP of high-quality articles on the history of the Arab and Islamic world, particularly focusing on the Levant (Syria, Lebanon, Palestine); subjects that are difficult to get right as much as they are neglected. He has brought some critical articles to FA status, like Yasser Arafat, and is a willing and helpful collaborator with other users. In short, he is just the type of user Wikipedia needs and benefits most from: serious, honest, dedicated, and level-headed.
