Where can I apply for Autopatroller rights?
Hello. I translate from English to Japanese on a daily basis. In doing so, numerous pages are generated within the "Translations" space. My translations maintain a consistent level of quality.(1(live edits and Deleted edits)、Please conduct your research using the site search function.) I wanted to apply for permission, but since I couldn't find the application section on the information page, I decided to ask here. Please provide an answer. Thank you. - Hello, i don´t think this is usual process, but you may try apply at Meta:RfH :) --MrJaroslavik (talk) 15:24, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Autopatrol is typically granted sua sponte by local admins rather than on a formal request. That said, I don't see any issues with the edits so I've granted the right. EPIC (talk) 15:38, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- I have confirmed that the permissions have been granted. I would like to thank @MrJaroslavik and @EPIC for answering the questions. Hdialk (talk) 01:28, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

- (for anyone searching this later) - if desired, the venue would be Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat. — xaosflux Talk 21:44, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

Some pages displaying Template:RF as page titles
Some pages, especially Steward requests/Global permissions and Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat, are displaying a page title, Template:RF. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 18:20, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- I don't see this. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 18:21, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- I do. Also, for me, the page title here displays Template:Communication. Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 18:22, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- Can you try with
?safemode=1to rule out any of your scripts first? — xaosflux Talk 18:29, 26 June 2026 (UTC)- I've recently done that, and the strange page titles still remain. Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 18:41, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- What interface skin and language are you using? Are you in mobile mode? — xaosflux Talk 18:43, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- I am on Vector 2022, in desktop mode. English language, obviously. Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 19:08, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Ameisenigel recently mentioned the same issue on the dewiki Discord, but I can't reproduce it. Johannnes89 (talk) 19:54, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

- Can you try another browser, or a private/incognito window and see if it is the same logged out? — xaosflux Talk 22:12, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- It only appears when logged in. --Ameisenigel (talk) 07:31, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

- @Codename Noreste and Ameisenigel: if you are using the MoreMenu gadget (which I thought SHOULD have been skipped with the safemode test) try disabling - I see it recently had many updates. — xaosflux Talk 07:29, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'm now encountering the same issue, but only when using Parsoid, switching to legacy parser shows the correct page title. I tried safemode of course which doesn't help. Johannnes89 (talk) 11:42, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

Decrease in protection level
Decrease the protection level of Steward requests/global to pending changes so that users can appeal quicker while also preventing disruption. ~2026-32712-74 (talk) 01:34, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Pending changes protection does not exist on Meta (or most Wikimedia wikis, for that matter). That feature comes from the unmaintained mw:Extension:FlaggedRevs. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 09:06, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- And, "appeal"? Appeal what? That is a page for making global group requests. — xaosflux Talk 10:27, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Appeal global locks or blocks, and how about we create Steward requests/Global/Appeals for global lock and block appeals? ~2026-32885-08 (talk) 01:41, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Use Stewards/Wizard. — xaosflux Talk 09:51, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- For the most part, these users are not allowed to be editing - thus why we have VRT to handle them, if they come on-wiki using alternative means they are generally evading their sanction which will (a) result in more sanctions, (b) certainly lead to an appeal decline. — xaosflux Talk 09:59, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- but my appeal has taken too long. The appealant is redirect machine. ~2026-32885-08 (talk) 18:10, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Admin note: blocked for lock evasion. — xaosflux Talk 21:02, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Please, discuss with community and Stewards included for new ways of appealing lock and global blocks before creating pages for that process. It’s not as simple as creating a page. —Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 23:36, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
