I’m organizng GLAM Wiki Conference and we need to regularly update the Meta-wiki page in multiple languages. --Carlos WMPT (talk) 12:56, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Carlos WMPT Is this a limited adminship request? --M/ (talk) 12:58, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @M7! As executive coordinator of Wikimedia Portugal, it would be better to have regular adminship, so we could handle translation management in the languages of Iberian Peninsula, when we have events with WMES, such as Porto Meeting 2025 or Women Writers Edit-a-thon 2024. However, if that's not possible, limited membership to handle Glam Wiki would be fine. Thanks! Carlos WMPT (talk) 13:35, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Carlos WMPT Do you hold advanced user permissions under another username? In this case, please state in your candidacy. Please also transclude this RfA under the proper section of your choice in Meta:Request for adminship. Thanks, --M/ (talk) 17:24, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Dear @M7,@Ameisenigel, @Barras and @SHB2000,
- Thank you for your replies and comments. I just noticed that I made a mistake in the candidacy. I would like to apply for "translation adminiship" and not "regular adminship". I am sorry for the time you spent here. I will prepare and post my candidacy in the proper place. Best wishes, Carlos WMPT (talk) 15:15, 30 July 2025 (UTC)

- Why do you need adminship to update the Meta-wiki page? If you want to handle translation management you might need translation adminship instead of regular adminship. --Ameisenigel (talk) 06:48, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
Comment I humbly suggest to avoid asking for meta adminship without some experience in handling advanced permissions and in understanding Mediawiki syntax and caveats. Please also read mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Translation example and be sure to try out translation syntax and usage before applying for translation adminship. Thanks, M/ (talk) 07:07, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
Oppose reasoning unconvincing, no advanced perms elsewhere either. //shb (t • c) 07:40, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
Oppose - The reason for requesting the right kind of shows that the applicant doesn't understand the rights structure here. That simply doesn't make me comfortable giving him advanced permissions. -Barras talk 07:49, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
