My bot already has the flag in this wiki, where it is authorized to fix double redirects. However, I want to be sure that I have the support to carry out a new task suggested in Wikimedia Foundation wiki: fixing links to Wikimedia projects and applying protocol-relative URLs (see wmf:Special:Contributions/Invadinado for more details about these edits).
Thanks Invadinado. Given that there have been no objections to this over the past few days, I'm happy to approve a trial for ~100 edits. Please report here once the 100 edits have been completed. Can you use [[wmf:]] for the links on this wiki to WMF wiki, and remember to adjust the script so that it doesn't create [[m: links but local [[ links instead? Sure, thanks. I'm just reviewing the edits now. For this edit[http://mail.wikipedia.org/ was changed to [//mail.wikipedia.org/ but if you go to <https://mail.wikipedia.org> you get a SSL security error because mail.wikipedia.org redirects to lists.wikimedia.org. Therefore, would it be possible for your bot to replace [http://mail.wikipedia.org/ with [//lists.wikimedia.org/ instead? Thehelpfulone21:42, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've not noticed any more issues but could you do another 100 or so edits as an extra precaution before I approve the task? Thehelpfulone15:32, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think the bot is ready. In fact, I'm editing with this script in Spanish Wikipedia now (and, for that reason, I prefer waiting until the task has finished, to not overload the Toolserver). When that has happened, I will let you know. Regards, and thanks for your interest. --invadinado(TALK - SUL)16:54, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've finished in Spanish Wikipedia, and I'm ready to edit here.
Note: Links with external link format will be converted to the interwiki format with a colon after the opening square brackets —for example, [[:Wikimedia Forum|forum]]—. This makes sure that they continue linking to the right page and do not activate MediaWiki contents like:
There were a couple more minor things that I noticed when I reviewed the links, but I've discussed this with Invadinado on IRC and the issues were fixed so I'm happy to approve this request, the bot is already flagged from a previous request. Thehelpfulone11:29, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked the bot for a day while I investigate, as it has edited pages that are causing other bots to generate warnings from the edits, at this stage stuff of COIBot. I need to investigate whether it is just a warning problem. There are pages that are being editing that I am not sure that really should be edited, eg. archive pages. — billinghurstsDrewth00:31, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
