Abuse of Meta admin privileges on Talk:Universal_Code_of_Conduct/Coordinating_Committee/Cases/Allegations_of_discrimination_in_ArWiki

I believe the user @Ibrahim.ID used their meta admin privileges (which was given to them within their U4C membership) inappropriately. I request that the talk page be unprotected and my brief announcement be placed back. It was a reasonable announcement, it was there for almost a month without causing any harm to anyone. The admin's removal of it now is completely unjustified. If there is any Meta policy that supports their action, I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know. The talk page being associated to a U4C case does not mean that it is owned by the U4C. The protection also prevents anyone to raise any concerns related to the U4C case request. U4C holds sysop permissions to moderate their pages which clearly includes their case talk pages, like local arbcoms do. U4C-members who are not local sysops hold „Limited adminship on Meta to manage the U4C pages locally“ per Universal Code of Conduct/Coordinating Committee/Announcements#User rights.

The U4C holds admin rights on meta to manage the U4C pages, which includes the moderation. My colleague removed your comment as part of that moderation, and used the page proctection since you did not accepted it. That's a legitimate use of the tools for moderation. It was indirectly related to the case. The complainant claims to be discriminated based on their language proficiency, since a couple of Algerian Arabic words slipped into their language in a discussion on the Arabic Wikipedia. My brief announcement is about a new user group supporting projects in varieties of Arabic, such as Algerian Arabic. So the initiative briefly announced on the talk page might help mitigate the problem for users in similar situations. It was only a short announcement, and it was explicitly requested any comments to be made on the linked discussion, not under the announcement. Even if we consider U4C pages under the meta to be a separate, autonomous Wikimedia Project, I would argue that a unilateral removal of my note is not compliant with the global policies, in particular sections 2.2 and 3.2 of the UCoC. The U4C moderates the pages, and if the U4C or one of it's members has the opinion, that your comment needs to be removed, because it doesn't belong to the case, then it's removed. I fully support @TheJoyfulTentmaker in their concern regarding the misuse of administrative privileges. The unilateral removal of their comment and the talk page protection raise serious transparency issues. If U4C pages are meant for case discussions, then restricting participation selectively seems counterproductive to the principles of fairness and open discourse.

Moreover, I must highlight a broader concern about how my own case has been handled. The U4C member Ibrahim.ID, who is both an admin on Arabic Wikipedia and a close associate of the accused admin, has demonstrated clear bias. Not only did he change the title of my case unilaterally—something that should require consensus—but his justification for doing so was subjective and dismissive of the core issue. This is especially concerning given that Wikipedia policies strongly discourage administrators from editing in matters where they have personal involvement or conflicts of interest (Conflict of interest.)

These actions, coupled with the fact that concerns are being dismissed outright with no room for further discussion, raise legitimate questions about whether U4C members are truly acting neutrally in this case. As I have explained, whether or not you have been designated as a troll on Hebrew Wikipedia, you fit the dictionary definition of the term, as well as Wikimedia's definition - specifically, the creation of multiple sockpuppet accounts. MetaWiki is not subject to Hebrew Wikipedia's policies, and even if you have not been officially declared a troll there (which is unfortunate), nothing prevents me from doing so here.
Regarding the blocking request, quite the opposite is true. You are the one who edited another user's contributions without authorization or approval, which warrants a warning or even a block.
(And by the way, the claim that I use the "Neriah" account to do things I do not want to do from the "Neriah" account is absurd, as I publicly declare my use of the additional account to avoid two-factor authentication.)

There is nothing about yona B. in that text. Script issue at Special:GlobalRenameQueue/open

Global renamers are facing an interface issue which leaves the 'Accept rename' button greyed out. Many of us have found a manual workaround to remove the '.oo-ui-widget-disabled' class that was added to the button.

I have narrowed the issue down to MediaWiki:Gadget-GlobalRenameQueueCheckAntiSpoof.js#L-54 through the message raised in my JavaScript console.

We would appreciate if an Interface Admin can poke at the script to resolve the issue.

Update to public filter 117

• Special:AbuseFilter/117

I re-ordered the filter's code (check for user_rights first, then use the regex variable next, and then check for removed AND not added), and I opted for removed/added_lines instead of old/new_wikitext, because removed/added_lines is faster in performance. I modified the regex a little, using a question mark quantifier instead of an asterisk and removed some template names that were not used, and I added a negative lookahead to exclude removing {{deleted userpage}}, since that latter template is not a deletion request template.
