Exclude Swedish (sv) wikis from global filter 384

Hi. In Swedish, we use many consonants in a row. Global filter 384 prevents any edit which contains seven consonants in a row. This matches "Världsstjärnor" in Special:AbuseLog/3525572. After publishing the page I dont get the button for translate this page, is it an issue with the syntax or is it a certain translation right that I am missing? Sandbox header

The sandbox has the line {{Meta:Sandbox/Please do not edit this line}}<!-- Please edit below this line --> at its very top. Currently, we try to prevent its removal using filter 34, which hasn't caught any hits since 2018, despite having been modified an additional 4 times during these 7 years.

I suggest we delete the filter entirely and use MediaWiki:Subjectpageheader instead; that interface message is prepended to every non-talk page's content, and allows for localizations. The sandbox can then be edited freely without affecting the message box. I have made some of the necessary changes as a proof-of-concept; see the sandbox (localized) to experience the change for yourself. If there's consensus to do this, MABot's code will probably need to be modified as well.

I'm not sure why that would be considered "sloppy"; it's the entire point of MediaWiki:Subjectpageheader. Other wikis use it for the same purpose (though not for a single page): enwiki, dewiki, hrwiki. Filter 34 is running a regex check on every single edit too; if Subjectpageheader is sloppy, then filter 34 is even worse.

Just to be clear, this discussion is about the filter. Subjectpageheader is just a proposed alternative. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 16:29, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

If filter 34 doesn't work, sure turn it off or fix it. I think this is an especially bad idea for the sandbox, as you can't use it as a sandbox - what goes in to the edit window there isn't what comes out to the page. — xaosflux ^Talk 21:17, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

The header has always been placed in the sandbox itself, so putting it in Subjectpageheader actually improves the reliability of the sandbox, as interface messages are rendered separately from the page's content.

Fixing filter 34 is trivial, but its premise is so terrible I think it's better to delete it. However, I didn't want to delete it on my own without first resolving the problem it was meant to solve (the sandbox needs its header), hence this discussion. We have several choices:

1. Fix the filter.
2. Delete the filter and use Subjectpageheader instead.
3. Delete the filter and let users remove the header if they want to.

Patroller for lp0 on fire

I've been patrolling cross-wiki for a few months now, and I regularly come across pages/edits on meta that need dealing with. My experience is a little limited (14 reverts and 15 speedy deletions), but I'd like to be able to deal with vandalism quicker with rollback, as well as patrolling edits/pages that are fine to make life easier for other patrollers.
