At Wikimedia Polska, one of my tasks is to create pages for events organised by us. One such event will be Open Knowledge: Wikimedia & Research in the CEE Region, for which I would like to create a page on Meta. The idea is to translate this page into two more languages: Polish and Ukrainian.
Since I have used this tool before (translation of the page on pl.wikimedia), I could mark the pages I have created for translation myself and not bother other people (especially with the number of changes that can be made on event pages). Ada Skirło (WMPL) (talk) 15:24, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- Your example is missing the usage of tvar's and MyLanguage, you should also insert an empty line after each section haeder to split translation units --Ameisenigel (talk) 17:54, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- You're right! Thank you @Ameisenigel for your comments! I added tvar's and MyLanguage to the two links in the text. I also added an empty line after each section header. If you have any more questions or suggestions, please let me know. Ada Skirło (WMPL) (talk) 11:31, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- OK. I think I can
Support now. However, please put each individual item of a list into its own translate tags on Meta and note that tvar's do not need to be unique for the whole page, just for each individual translation unit. If in doubt, you could always take a look at Meta:Internationalization guidelines. --Ameisenigel (talk) 10:15, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Of course! Thank you so much for your vote and comments :) Ada Skirło (WMPL) (talk) 09:47, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
