Vandalism

In w:el:Ελληνικό_αλφάβητο el:user:Kalogeropoulos blocked article on vandalized version and insists on keeping it in such vandalized state. Please revert him to last version by 85.25.73.57 - this is needed because I exhausted all local procedures. Administrators does not have right to work on behalf of vandals. This is against Wikipedia. 83.21.173.183 19:20, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Looking at the changes here, it seems that what he did was restore condensed references and some other things. Ottava Rima (talk) 19:27, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
But he screwed table. So rather revert to this should be done instead. Can thou do this? Table still is screwed and no one cares. Note that today version from 18:18 is last good one with condensed references. 83.21.173.183 21:32, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Someone fixed this table, but this vandal responsible for this is still not banned. 79.191.252.254 17:08, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
They wont be banned, and please do not call honest mistakes vandalism. Ottava Rima (talk) 17:21, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
But he reapplied this twice in identical manner as linked directly above, so it is vandalism. 83.11.48.89 13:28, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Or, it could be said that you were vandalising by reverting without discussion. If you start calling anything vandalism it could easily apply back to you. Ottava Rima (talk) 13:54, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
But these two IP reverts reinstated undamaged table, so they could not be vandalistic. 83.11.48.89 19:09, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Template problem

I changed this main page [[1]]recently but the templates are not working properly, such as images and background color. Can someone fix it for me ? Thanks --စေတနာ 14:09, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Page navigation for visually impaired

Today, many articles have spoken versions. Now there is still the question to make those articles easily attainable for the visually impaired. About this I had an idea, illustrated in the test page: http://stq.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPREEKENE_WIKIPEDIA Essential in this page are eight images, representing the eight main chapters of that Wikipedia. Further below, nine sound files have been added. In order to become usable, the following functions should be added to that page.

  • When moving the mouse cursor over an image, the according sound file should be spoken in order to learn the user on which image he is.
  • On clicking an image, the according page (or in this case a sub content page) should be opened.
  • Perhaps: when opening this page, its title enzy.ogg should be spoken, in order to assure the user that he has reached the right page.

Now, the first two functions are already possible in Flash (see e.g. http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash5/buttonsound.htm), I only don’t know, how to implement them in Wikipedia.

Questions

  • Is this the right place to discuss such a subject?
  • Have similar attempts already made before or are they even already applied anywhere?

I am very interested in an answer. --Pyt 07:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
