    The goal of this project is to produce and document 5000 high-quality images capturing mosques and jami‘ across Tunisia. These images will be published under a free license on Wikimedia Commons, establishing a comprehensive visual repository to support Wikipedia articles and global educational resources.

    Tunisia is home to over 5,000 mosques and jami‘, reflecting a diverse and rich Islamic architectural heritage. However, only about 500  mosques   of these landmarks are currently documented with images in the public domain. This project seeks to bridge this gap, providing high-quality visual content that honors the depth of Tunisia’s religious and architectural identity.

    Execution Plan & Timeline:

    Fieldwork: The project will be carried out through 8 intensive field trips covering various cities and regions across the country.

    Duration: The entire process of photography, documentation, and uploading will span two months.

    Completion: The project is scheduled for completion, with all images fully accessible to the public, by April 2026.
