    Description

    [edit]

This project aims to document and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Algeria through a curated collection of photographs. It will focus primarily on capturing images from museums, archaeological sites, and traditional events, highlighting the diversity and depth of Algerian history.

The core of the collection will include visual documentation of ancient cities such as Timgad, Tiddis and Tipasa, alongside items housed in major Algerian museums. These include artifacts, mosaics, inscriptions, traditional clothing that reflect the country's Berber, Roman, and Ottoman influences.

All photographs will be made freely available under open licenses, ideally on Wikimedia Commons, and will try to link some to corresponding entries on Wikipedia, Wikidata where applicable. The ultimate goal is to create a visual archive that supports education, research, and cultural preservation, while improving the representation of Algeria’s heritage online.
