Description
[edit]Wiki Loves Ramadan 2026 is an annual global initiative aimed at enriching Wikimedia platforms with high-quality articles and freely licensed photographs documenting the customs, traditions, and cultural practices observed during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative focuses on capturing the diversity of Ramadan observances across different regions and communities, strengthening the representation of Islamic heritage on Wikimedia platforms such as Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikibooks, Wikivoyage and Wikidata.
The project aims to create or improve more than 4,500 articles and 3000 images related to Ramadan, covering cultural traditions, religious practices, places, events, and biographies of notable Islamic figures. In parallel, contributors are encouraged to upload photographic documentation of Ramadan-related activities, spaces, and community life.
