WikiAcción Perú is a project that seeks to raise Peru's profile on the free encyclopedia Wikipedia in Spanish, Wikimedia Commons, and other Wikimedia projects, with a focus on ecology, gender, and culture. It also aims to promote free knowledge and the presence of the Wikimedia movement in our country through an ongoing program of non-profit virtual and in-person activities for educational and communication purposes.

We start from a feminine perspective where ecology, culture, and gender are connected and intertwined. We are also guided by the conviction that the Wikimedia movement must play an active role in the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals set by UNESCO. Our vision aims to build community in diversity, promote connection with nature, with our collective memory, and with ourselves, foster individual and collective agency, and respect and service to all human and non-human beings.

Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand, or WANZ, is an Incorporated Society and registered charity in New Zealand. As an independent organisation, and chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation, WANZ supports members, partner organisations, and the broader community to contribute to Wikimedia projects through events, training and partnerships.

Our kaupapa | mission is:

To empower and engage people to collect, develop, and make available educational content under a free licence, or in the public domain
To represent Aotearoa New Zealand contributors to Wikimedia projects
To provide funding and training support to our members and the public
To develop and maintain partnerships with aligned organisations
To strive for equity and diversity of our movement with a focus on Te Ao Māori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
