Nigerian Women on Wikidata: Creating items and adding descriptions

Nigerian Women on Wikidata: Creating Items and adding description in Igbo is a Wikidata event focused on teaching new editors the basics of creating items on Wikidata. The edit-a-thon event is particularly on adding description of Nigerian Women in Igbo language. This event is approved under the Igbo Wikimedians User Group.

Aim[edit]

This event will involve 30 participants from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. These participants will add description in Igbo language to at least 5 items. At the end of the event, at least a total of 150 items would have been edited by adding Igbo descriptions to items.


Date: 18th February, 2022

Venue: Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

Time:10:30am-12:30pm

Registration (Wikimedia and event dashboard): 10:00am-10:30am

Outcome[edit]

During the event, 38 editors were on ground. 24 editors successfully registered and logged into the dashboard, while others were blocked while trying to register. All participants used their smartphones to edit items.

At the end of the event, a total of 28 editors registered; there was a total of 509 edits; and 422 items were edited (Igbo descriptions) as at 18th February 2022, 21:08 (WAT). More information can be found here.
