The research project Open Access strategies for arts and music (OASAM) focuses on making publications in visual and performing arts, design, music research and related theory subjects open access.
The project:
- supports the interoperability of research content and data produced in those fields with the Wikimedia projects;
- defines and encourages strategies to facilitate the upload of those research outputs on Wikidata (contributing to the project WikiCite);
- and maps publishers and stakeholders by using and improving data on Wikidata.
The project is led the Universität Basel, in partnership with Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHDK), Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI), Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), Hochschule Luzern (HSLU) and Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW), with the support of swissuniversities in the frame of Programme Open Science II / Open Access Projects / Action line Open Access Long Form Publications and Other Publication Formats.
