Wiki Loves Folklore is an international multimedia competition to enjoy and celebrate the cultural diversity of the world through Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. This year's media contest celebrates the rich tapestry of folk culture from around the world, featuring categories that include (but are not limited to) folk festivals, dances, music, activities, games, cuisine, clothing, and a wide variety of traditional expressions. These may encompass ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, seasonal celebrations, calendar customs, folk arts, folk religion, and mythology.
The Pilipinas Panorama Community organized the Wiki Loves Folklore 2026 in Manila which is participated by Metro Manila-based Wikipedians and photographers. The event was held at the historic Chamber Building of the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands in Intramuros district of Manila City. The upload-a-thon started at 10:30 AM and concluded at 03:30 PM. As an advocate of diversity in all aspects, PPC also organized an online writing competition: Feminism and Folklore 2026. The competition is running from 1st February 2026 until 31 March 2026. Wikipedia editors and participants created Wikipedia articles on feminism, women biographies and gender-focused topics for the project in league with Wiki Loves Folklore's gender gap focus with a folk culture theme.

Free the Freedom of Panorama in ESEAP
Johnny Alegre (Buszmail), founding head (emeritus) of the Pilipinas Panorama Community, presented concepts of PPC's flagship advocacy, Freedom of Panorama, at the ESEAP Conference 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
In Wikimania 2023, a similar lightning talk about the Freedom of Panorama (FoP) in the Philippines was discussed. In this event, the focus was given to the Wikimedia region of ESEAP as a matter of awareness and promotion. Within the region, there are only 3 countries with full FoP: Australia, China and Malaysia. The discussion was described to become a tool for communities to get together for more such freedom advocacies. The regional community still needs further knowledge regarding the legislative backgrounds of every ESEAP country, and more ideas to lobby for FoP in their respective parliaments.

A Survey of Freedom of Panorama (FOP) in the Philippines
Johnny Alegre (Buszmail), head of the Pilipinas Panorama Community, presented a capsule overview of PPC's flagship advocacy, Freedom of Panorama, before the diverse audience attending Wikimania 2023 in Singapore.
Freedom of Panorama is a little-known yet important legal right; for photographers, netizens, and content creators to freely capture and share public works of art and architecture found in or seen from public spaces, usually installed on a permanent basis. FOP serves to benefit Wikimedia's readership by acting as a freely accessible adjunct to information on all branches of knowledge. In the context of FOP in the Philippines, it is still a legislative work in progress. The reportorial on the subject will be of interest to Wikimedians in ESEAP, and perhaps the global audience.
