Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Korean Wikinews

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The result of the following proposal for closing a WMF project is to KEEP the project as the proposer has withdrawn the request. Please, do not modify this page.

The following discussion is closed: Withdrawn.

For a news reporting station, this wiki created in 2006 and with only forty-six content pages is a bit surprisingly not up-to-date at all. Having failed its mission and becoming obsolete, I now call for its closure. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:11, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

  1. As a contributor of ko.wn, I storngly oppose this proposal. I believe that the nominator misunderstood some facts. Ko.wn was created on 19 August 2010,[1] [2] not 2006, which means that this project is totally new project. Also, we now have 30 active contributors,[3] which is quite enough for project that was created only few months ago. Our project is alive, and our community is active. For instance, we've recently held our first sysop election successfully.[4]Therefore, it's just nonsense that ko.wn is inactive or failed. We've just started. Don't obstruct our project. --Gapo 11:08, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I think there's a misunderstanding here. The edits from 2006 were imported in August when the project was started. In the site creation log you can see that it was indeed started just two months ago. Jafeluv 11:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Indeed a misunderstanding. The spirit of your nominations is good, but for determining when a project was actually started, check Wikimedia News (or the log Jafeluv gave). Seb az86556 11:33, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Also, a contributor of this project, I am really sorry for your nomination. --S96s097 13:30, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Opened only 2 months ago. This is too haste nomination. – Kwj2772 (msg) 13:47, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  6. I don't agree with this opinion. That's a misunderstanding on your part. --Idh0854 15:02, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Oppose per Jafeluv, might have been a misunderstanding; the project is just starting. Let's give it a little time to grow first. Tempodivalse [talk] 15:32, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  8. Oppose. Per above. Let's give it some time. -FASTILY (TALK) 18:58, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  9. I don't agree with this opinion.Park6354 02:52, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  10. It has been 4 months since this wiki was created, don't trust page histories. Frozen Windwant to be chilly? 19:53, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  11. Objected: It's not been given nearly enough time to get off the floor and running - don't be so damn hasty :) BarkingFish 23:13, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  12. Oppose. Because pages are imported, a history of pages shows itself from beta-wiki(incubator). This wiki has activated about 4 months, so don't be hurry =) - Chugun (Talk) 02:08, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  13. No.... This project is new. Give it time. Kanzler31 19:29, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
