Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Yes I did. I was so happy with how the project went through,the virtual training made it seamless and easy.

20 participants 20 Our goal was successfully achieved through early invitations and the prompt initiation of the edit-a-thon
150 articles/improved/edits words to be added Created (15), Edited/Improved (150) We attained our target as intended, with a majority of participants actively participating in the online training. The edit-a-thon served as our means of achieving the project goals.
We expected to have (10) new participants 10 new participants registered Our new participants include those who attended the event, along with an additional 10 individuals who registered specifically for it.
To use outreach dashboard to tract the events online activities https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Wikimedia/Wikisource_Training_and_Proofread_a_thon_On_Nigerian_Books/home We successfully created the outreach dashboard and tracked the projects activities.

  • What were the successful aspects of the project?

The successful aspects of the projects was numerous but just to mention a few:

  • The new members found wikisource editing to be easy to edit, which fast spaced their editing skills on wikisource.
  • The number of edits made were exceedingly beyond our expectations
  • The existing editors were able to mentor and guide the new editors which was very great as a collaborative skill for advancing open knowledge sharing.
  • What were the challenges encountered?

A notable challenge that was encountered was the delay of tracking of edit contributions by outreach dashboard.

  • What improvements will be considered for future initiatives?

None Actually the Google Meet platform has proven to be very effective.

Anything else you want to share about your project?

It was truly a wonderful project, and the use of virtual training proved to be very effective. I’d love to continue incorporating virtual training into my future projects and as well have a 2.0 for this project.
